Bathroom Lust: Accessories Are Everything

In any home, the bathroom is arguably the most functional of any spaces we use. Often times, accessories are overlooked when putting the final touches on a bathroom design. So how do accessories add both beauty and function to a bathroom? With the right selections, a well thought out design, and our design expertise, we are here to give you plenty of tips and tricks on accessorizing a beautiful bathroom.

First off, think about how you personally use your space. If you’re starting the process of building or renovating, and you’re not completely smitten with your existing bathroom, think about how you would actually love to use the space. Are you a person who loves taking baths? If so, would you love to add to this experience by being able to read a great book or magazine? A flexible bath tub caddy can really helpful.

Are you a person who loves to start your day with a cup of coffee or wind down with a relaxing cup of tea at the end of the evening? If space allows, creating a mini-coffee bar and storing a few cups and saucers in the same area, can be really convenient. Storage is everything when it comes to almost everyone’s bathroom routines. If you have open shelving readily available, try and place as many of your “beautiful but still useful” items there. Display your perfume bottles, soap, brushes, and linens in a new way. It can really change the feeling of any space.

We also love adding flexible small pieces of furniture to our bathroom designs. A small ottoman or end table can serve both functionally, and create a warmer feel in the space. These are items that can also easily be switched out and used in other spaces of your home, including foyers and bedrooms.

Of course, a go-to in adding texture to any space is linens. We love the idea of using simple white as your base “every-day use” bath towels. When it comes to hand towels, add texture and have fun switching it up with versatile prints. We love this freestanding bathtub in one our favorite master bathroom builds- The Danbury Way House. What do you think?
