Office Redesign Inspired by Travel

To say we were inspired by our latest trip is a bit of an understatement. With the varying weather and brown landscape we wish we could’ve taken the California sun and scenery home with us. Instead, we have infused what we love about Los Angeles into our office, capturing the best design elements.

We started with palm leaves, a trend we are seeing everywhere on all things design. From wallpaper like you will see at the Beverly Hills Hotel to pillows and art like you can see in our office décor.

By adding details that emulate things natural to the coastal city like pineapples and banana leaves {while ours may be brass} we instantly transform our Minnesota studio to something you would see ocean side.

We use the color palette we fell in love with, mixing greenery, corals and of course white.

Having the right blend of textures converts décor from basic to unique. We used fur pillows, patterned ceramics, and various metals to give this re-design a punch.

We weren’t afraid to use traditional pieces against non-traditional elements.

While you can’t smell, or feel what you can see in these photos, imagine the aroma from a Volcano, Voluspa candle {one of our favorites}, and the varying weight in fabrics, textures and surfaces. Like California, we wanted this re-design to be diverse yet sophisticated and somehow we managed to bring what we love about our trip back to our Mendota Heights studio.
