Spring Into Home: Claire Staszak’s Home

It’s week 4 of our #SpringIntoHome tour and this week we are featuring the fabulous Claire Staszak of Centered By Design. We had the opportunity to spend a lot of time with Claire at the Design Bloggers Conference and instantly knew we wanted to collaborate on more projects together. From that week came the idea of this series! It’s amazing the networking and friendships that are created at these events.

We reached out to Kelsey from Farmer’s Daughter Interiors, Meredith from View From My Heels, Doreen Corrigan, and Brynn Olson of Brynn Olson Design Group. We have created quite the little group of friends and have truly enjoyed learning more about each other and our businesses.

We are so excited to share with you Claire’s newly renovated Bungalow in the Chicago area. It has so much sophistication and charm. Claire and her husband have been in this house for a year now, and have completely renovated the main floor.

The way they have maintained the original character of the home while incorporating modern day design and convenience is so beautiful.

How pretty is their foyer area? The arched front door is so classic {original to the home} but painting it black added that touch of modern to make it feel updated.

The dining room is the perfect combination of antiques and new trending pieces. The marbled fabric on her window treatments, mixed with the vintage black buffet she found marries old with new. The warm wood curio cabinets flanking the off center opening to the living room adds symmetry to a not so perfectly symmetrical space.

Of course our favorite room in Claire’s house is the living room. The mixture of soft pastel color, with rich textured fabrics has our hearts beating! The fully upholstered chairs are #swoonworthy.

Claire wanted to have high contrast when it came to her kitchen. The combination of black, white and brass mixed with vintage pieces like the antique white cupboard she found carries her design aesthetic from the rest of the house.

Her guest room on the main floor has this collected, fresh and comfortable feeling. She found the woven headboard while she was traveling, and it set the tone for the entire room. The combination of blue, orange, and warm woods creates a rich look without feeling too heavy.

The mudroom in this house is even beautiful. She used a ceramic tile {that looks like cement tile}, added a distressed green  bench and practical hooks to make this space both functional and beautiful.

Last but certainly not least is her in home office space. Claire and her husband did an ikea hack on this standing desk, and has made this space so functional and organized, any designer could work here!

Isn’t Claire’s home amazing? It’s so rewarding to see a designer’s personal home and the love and sweat they put into it.

Come back next week to catch our final week of the #SpringIntoHome tour with Meredith of A View from My Heels.
