High Point Market Recap

We finally got around to recapping this years High Point Market and it couldn’t have been a more inspiring and successful trip! Although this wasn’t my first time attending, it was for a few members of our team and it was so fun to see the market through the eyes of a first timer again. High Point Market is always full days of non-stop action, and this year was no different. This year, I also had added tasks as I was selected as one of the High Point Style Spotters for 2018!

As a Style Spotter, I scoured through the hundreds of showrooms to track the latest trends and select my favorite finds from the Spring market. When selecting my picks this year, I really wanted to create a collection of pieces that reflects what a Bria Hammel Interiors home feels like: traditional, feminine, livable, with that extra detail that creates that wow factor.

Below are a few of my favorite pieces, or you can see my entire list on Pinterest here.

Oomph has always been one of our favorite vendors for unique lighting and mirrors! They offer a large variety of custom colors and it’s very clear that they care about the details as much as we do! This year they introduced custom vanities to their collection and this scallop front option instantly caught our eye! This pretty lady might even be making her way into my own powder bath in the near future!

Hudson Valley recently came out with a new lighting collection called Mitzi, named after the founders grandmother. With it being their first time to market this year we couldn’t wait to visit their new showroom! We loved the sage green color of this new lamp and loved the texture the scallop detail brought to the traditional style base!

All things wicker! A market trend that was very clear this season was the introduction of wicker to furniture pieces! The modern, curved back paired with the white wicker made an old idea feel fresh!

Speaking of wicker….we knew this bar cart had to be one of the items that I included in my Style Spotter collection! The oversized wheels added such a playful feel to this piece!

This may be one of my favorite pieces from market! The curved back that featured pink and white striped fabric and light pink accent cording was so darling!

Below are a few of our favorite showrooms this year as well.

Highland House

Highland House was easily are most visited showroom at market this year…I can’t tell you how many hours we spent there each day! This year their showroom theme was “Optimism”, which was executed so well! Their fabric and furniture selections illustrated nothing but happy thoughts!

Hickory Chair – Suzane Kassler Collection

Suzanne is one of our biggest design inspirations and each year we make a point to go to her Hickory Chair showroom to say “Hi!” As usual, she absolutely nailed her showroom design, and we were quite fond of all of her pink selections!

Hudson Valley Showroom

This was their first time at market and their new showroom was beautiful and vast in size! They had a large amount of their collection displayed which is so nice for us designers to see in person! If you missed them this market, make a point to put it on your lis the next time you visit!

Consort Design

This was Consort’s first time at market and we fell in love with some of their pieces from their new furniture collection at their showroom. Their new collection is designed around French Modernism and each of their pieces are so well thought out! Make sure to check out their pieces….our personal favorite was the Tangle Table!

During the trip, I also spoke on the Style Spotter panel as well as moderated one with the wonderful men behind Consort Design (mentioned above). High Point Market is such a great opportunity to spend time with fellow designers and we made sure to meet up with as many of them as possible. We always try to go into market planning 50% of our time dedicated to trend spotting and the other 50% dedicated to attending seminars, networking, and connecting with other designers and vendors!

In addition to my duties as Style Spotter, our team managed to also get some shopping done for our clients and we are so excited about all that we found! But, it’s not all work, we did manage to squeeze in some time for play! Some of our favorite parties this year was the Surya party and the Highland House party hosted with Southern Living Magazine! Such a great time to unwind and have some much needed fun!

We had a fabulous time at the Spring market and we can’t wait until the Fall market in October!
