Girls Night Out: Red Barn Farm of Northfield

Bria Hammel Interiors

These past 6 months have been a whirlwind for our team. I have to say I couldn’t be happier to have a group of women who cares so much about our business. They work hard to stay on top of our projects, create beautiful homes, and make the process easy for our clients. After the craziness of the summer months I decided we should all take a little break and spend an evening together away from the studio, enjoying Minnesota’s beautiful fall weather. Since as a team we don’t get a ton of time to get away together, we wanted to make it really special so that our team could really enjoy the precious time away.

Red Barn Farm of Northfield

I have been hearing about the Red Barn Farm of Northfield for over a year. Just outside of the Twin Cities, it’s a beautiful farm that serves some of the most delicious and beautiful pizza. Of course we decided to take full advantage of the evening and make the night special for our team, so we brought some of our favorite fall decor for an outdoor dinner party at the farm.

The Setup

The Red Barn Farm had this beautiful pergola  setup for their customers to enjoy. We brought a fold up table and tablecloth, beautiful dishes and glassware, and some special accessories to make the entire setup come together. We had just received this beautiful picnic basket from Cape House and it was the perfect addition to the table setup. The basket has this preppy blue and white ticking stripe fabric on the inside with fresh white dishes being held by rich leather straps. I love that the basket is small but there is still enough space to carry some of the other necessities you may need for a dinner party. Since there are a lot of us now, we brought picnic blankets to throw down next to the table to accommodate more of our team.

Flowers

Spruce Flowers and Home provided a beautiful fall floral arrangement for our table. Spruce is one of our favorite local florists. They make beautiful, modern arrangements in a more whimsical style, which we love. {You may remember some of the other flowers they did for us at our Party with SD Custom Homes.} These flowers were mixed in such an organic natural way that felt feminine and edgy all at the same time.

The Food and Drink

Meiomi Wine was nice enough to treat us to some of my favorite wine. I LOVE their rosé, which smells like a delicious mixture of watermelon and orange peel with just a hint of rose petal. It’s light, fresh and not too sweet. Rosé was the perfect glass of wine to enjoy as the ladies arrived.

The pizza at the Red Barn Farm was out of this world. We were surprised how delicious their pizza was! It felt like they were made out of a little Pizzeria on the streets of Italy. It wasn’t long for a long line wrapping around the barn to line up for the delicious pizza. Fresh vegetables and meat, light but thick pizza crust, it’s too bad they don’t deliver up to St. Paul!

With the pizza we poured a bottle of Meiomi Pinot Noir. It was the perfect pairing with the flavorful pizza and of course our rich chocolate cake we had for dessert. Meiomi’s pinot noir is full body with blends of jammy fruit, mocha, vanilla, and a hint of toasted oak.

We picked up the chocolate cake from one of our favorite restaurants in St. Paul, Cafe Latte. Their infamous turtle cake is one of the best we have ever had! It’s beautiful, rich and so flavorful, if you are ever in the St. Paul area it’s a must try!

The entire evening was magical. Our team had time to talk, laugh, and enjoy each other. This is definitely going to turn into an annual event for us!
