The Parkwood Reveal

We are excited to share with you a new project reveal, our Parkwood home! We worked on this house with Landmark Build Co., (see a previous home we’ve done together here), and we couldn’t be more happy with how it turned out! This home has so many incredible details on its own that we really wanted to keep the decorating and accessorizing at a minimum so that the architecture could do the talking.

This home sits in the beautiful Parkwood Knoll neighborhood in Edina. We love this area and even have another project we’re finishing up on (coming to the blog soon!) that’s across the street. Our clients wanted a classic, traditional, bright space that was perfect for their active family. We really enjoyed bringing this home together for them!

The Foyer

When you walk through the front doors, you are immediately greeted by this stunning foyer. The grand staircase is such a show stopper and although we hate to pick favorites, this space might take the cake for the prettiest spot in the home 😉 We chose to line the stairs with these gorgeous sconces, and they add a cozy touch to the the millwork wall.

The Great Room

Our clients are always on the go, so providing them with a space to unwind was crucial. As we’re sure you can tell from the images, the ceilings were so high in this space. By adding in the exposed wood beams and stone fireplace, it brought a level of warmness that invites comfortability.

The Kitchen

The kitchen is not only perfect for entertaining but timeless in it’s design. It’s no secret that we love a clean, white kitchen but the honed granite countertops provided a great amount of contrast to the space. Honed granite has more subtle appearance versus the glossiness of polished granite, and we selected it for their kitchen as it gives a relaxed and casual vibe.

One of the items our clients requested for their kitchen was a large kitchen island. While normal islands typically have room for about 4 barstools, this one seats 6. To make an even bigger statement, we added 3, beautiful lanterns to hang above it. Because, go big or go home, right?!

Mudroom and Laundry Room

Mudrooms and laundry rooms are pretty notorious for being some of the messiest rooms in a house and most neglected when it comes to design. And while it might be hard to avoid the clutter, it doesn’t mean they deserve any less attention than any other space! Messiness just means that the area gets a lot of traffics, so why not make it gorgeous?

Our main focus for the mudroom and laundry room was storage, storage, storage. With hooks, open shelving, and baskets, our client now has the room for storing all the things they’d rather hide but in a stylish way.

Master Bathroom

We believe a master bathroom should be clean and tranquil and this space is just that. This room already gets such gorgeous natural light, so we wanted to keep it as bright as it is by selecting white cabinetry and a lighter countertops and flooring. It’s became such an open and inviting space and that bathtub is a dream!

Basement Living Space

We wanted to add some contrast in the basement as well, so we chose a charcoal paint color for the built-in. However, there’s something unique about this specific piece… The door on the right, although it may look like an ordinary cabinet door, leads to a secret storage area! We love adding in these hidden details and truly make a home unique.

We had such an amazing time creating this house with Landmark Build Co. We would love to know what your favorite detail is from this project – let us know in the comments below! And, as always, thank you for following along!
