Gallery walls serve as a great focal point in almost any room. They can also serve as a great way to display meaningful photos, and items, in a non-cluttered way. Most clients feel daunted by the task of creating their own gallery wall, so we love to take the guess work out it. The client brings us their favorite items, and we take care of the rest. Here are some ideas to consider when creating the perfect gallery wall.
- Select the items you want to frame. These can be photographs or meaningful items. Some of the best gallery walls are created from framed items other than pictures.
- Decide on a color scheme. For a more subtle look, we love using black and white photographs. This is one of our most pinned images! We get questions every day about how to hang this gallery wall we did in a guest bedroom.
- Layout can be one of the trickiest parts of designing a perfect gallery wall. Some are designed as a “collage” look, with various frame sizes and even mix in different wall decor. Sometimes a more simple look, with all the same size frames, can create a more formal look.
- You may decide to go for the more casual, “collage” look, if you various meaningful items to display. A great way to get a feel of how the gallery wall will look, is by simply laying out all of your items on the floor. This helps you narrow down placement, before going through all the hassle of hanging.
