Turning Grocery Store Flowers into a Centerpiece | Bria Hammel Interiors

There is something to be said for having fresh flowers in your home all year round. A lot of people tell us they don’t want to spend the money, they don’t have time to go to the farmer’s market, or they just aren’t sure what flowers to get for the different seasons. Today we are turning grocery store flowers into a centerpiece, and sharing just how to do it!

What Flowers To Purchase in The Store

The key to buying flowers from the grocery store is thinking outside of the box. It’s ok to buy a pre-made arrangement and break it apart. Add greens, soft what we call “fluffy” flowers (hydrangeas, peonies, babies breath…) Smaller petite flowers like spray roses, wax flowers, and blue star thistles.

One of the easiest things to purchase at the grocery store is great greens. We can almost always count on a variety of eucalyptus. Our favorite to use in arrangements is seeded eucalyptus and silver dollar eucalyptus.

How To Arrange the Flowers

When making the arrangements we try to not make them look perfect. A little messy and collected is our favorite look. We always start with the greens, then the “fluffy” flowers. From there we work in the petite flowers and finish with the delicate ones.

All of these flowers in our arrangement were purchased at Trader Joes. Trader Joes and Whole Foods has the best selection of flowers year round and we have always had success finding these beautiful flowers in all parts of the country!

Share where you love to purchase flowers… and we challenge you to keep fresh flowers around your house all year round!

So beautiful but I would need a video to accomplish that! I never can duplicate flower arranging!

Thank you! It takes a little practice but really isn't too hard!

I love the space you photographed this in! And I second the idea of a video for the floral arrangement!
