Our Must-Haves for an Elevated Kid’s Room

Because we all know how fast kids grow up, we always try to create a space that they would love now and in years to come. When putting together the design for a kid’s room, we aim to not design anything too childish that they would have to swap out later and nothing too grown up that they wouldn’t love right now.

Having a space where your child feels happy, safe, and inspired can be key to their overall happiness. To inspire creativity and imagination in a cozy room both you and your child love to be in, we’ve put together our must-haves for an elevated kid’s room.

PLAY WITH COLOR AND PATTERN

When it comes to a kids’ space, a patterned carpet or rug can become your best friend. Not only are they beautiful, but a heavy color and pattern will hide kids’ messes, food stains, and dog hair. Pro tip: Stay away from viscose in your carpet and rugs.

ADD CHARACTER IN PIECES YOU CAN EASILY SWAP OUT

Catering to your kid’s interests (i.e. animals, dolls, trucks, etc.) can be the most fun part of designing their space. But, to make the room have longevity, add that character and flair in pieces that can easily be swapped out such as artwork, accessories, and pillows!

TIMELESS CHOICES

Patterns like stripes, ginghams, and plaids never go out of style. If investing in a rug or even a luxurious duvet cover, selecting one of those timeless patterns is a way to keep the space interesting for years.

LIFE-FRIENDLY™ UPHOLSTERY

Invest in pieces with timeless styles and durability. Leather, patterns, and outdoor fabrics are all safe bets. For even more safety, choose to upholster your pieces in a performance fabric that is made to withstand everyday messes.
