Happy New Year! To kick off January, we took a look at the trends shaping 2024 and tapped into Bria’s expertise to share her insightful take on if she agrees with what’s “in” and what’s “out”. Keep scrolling for her curated perspective that’ll guide your style choices in the ever-evolving world of design
IN: ‘Mono Rooms’ aka Tone on Tone Decor
“I feel like we do this a lot and I love it because I think it just makes the room feel richer and fuller. We have been doing this for years and I am glad everyone agrees with us now!”
IN: Dark Wood Paneled Walls
“It needs to be in the right application. We always tell our clients to not take a trend and put it in their house just because it’s a trend. It needs to fit in with the architectural details of the home, so if we were doing a lake house or a mountain home I think this is definitely in!”
IN: Peach & Apricot Colors
“I don’t know if I could do this on the walls, but maybe! Never say never. I love the color of it and the warmth and it is a unique color, so maybe in small doses”
OUT: Ivory Boucle
“I have to agree! I am so sick of seeing boucle on everything, but with that being said it is a really nice texture to include in a space when we are designing for a client that likes neutrals and doesn’t want a lot of color because it can be a great way to add depth. So maybe in small doses, but not all over every piece of furniture in the room.”
OUT: Dining Benches
“I don’t know that we have done much of this ever, so I have to agree that it’s out. I don’t think they are very comfortable to sit on and we really like to have a dining room that invites people to stay for a really long time.”
