The most PINTERESTING thing of the week: August 10th

Here they are! My top 10 PINS on Pinterest for the week!

On Sunday we went to Louie’s baptism class, which was great! The couple teaching the class were our mentors who we met with when we were getting ready to get married! It was so nice to see them again and have them meet Louie! So of course, I’m also thinking about how we can make the baptism party afterwards special… I know, it’s not about that, but I AM a designer 🙂

Such a cute way to decorate for a baptism!

I’ve been helping a client with her new home that she is building, and right now we are focusing on the kitchen. Probably one of my most favorite rooms in the house- there are so many technical details that can really make the space. Something we will be working on soon is the backsplash, now that we have the granite selected. While looking for ideas, I came across this photo of a wonderful Moroccan tile backsplash. Although this is not the direction we are going for her kitchen, I had to save this image in hopes there will be a house to use it in!

Are you guys following retail stores on Pinterest? It’s a great way to get ideas and see their latest products! Ballard Designs is very active on pinterest, and one of my favorite things they do is show a room vignette and tag the paint color used. This is such a convenient tool for me to help my clients see what a paint color will look like in a room. So many clients have such a hard time “visualizing” a color from a tiny paint chip.

Last weekend I was talking with a girlfriend about a bridal shower she was throwing. We were brainstorming about what to serve for food… and I had remembered these adorable appetizers that I saw on pinterest! I think I may use them for the baptism, so easy, cute and who doesn’t love fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil?!

And while we are on the topic of food…. ummm can you say DELICIOUS???

Really starting to help my brother and sister-in-law with their nursery for my new niece or nephew coming in November! Since they are not finding out what the sex is, we are keeping the nursery gender neutral with grays, whites, and yellows. Look at this cute wall hook arrangement that would be perfect for their nursery! And totally DIY!

Check out this adorable nursery! A nursery from a fellow blogger/interior designer Emily Hewitt of A Well Dressed Home!

She had twins right around the same time Louie was born. I just love her work, I think we share a lot of the same design styles 🙂

Now that I am officially working from home, I’m DYING for my own office. Unfortunately, it’s just not in the cards for this house. BUT… the next house…. maybe I can have one of these:

Or this…

And finally… I’m still holding on to the last of summer… even though I already saw a few trees turning on 94 the other day 🙁

Thank you so much for the mention on my twin's nursery! :-) Oh, and I am SO with you on the office...it's not in the cards for my current home either, but I hope to have a fabulous one in the next house! :-) Emily Hewett A Well Dressed Home awelldressedhome.com

Love the blog this time. The office with the desk looks like my idea of a sewing room. Love Mom Date: Fri, 10 Aug 2012 13:53:00 +0000 To: miaann514@msn.com
