When we were asked by Copper Creek to design a home on the shores of Prior Lake that was selected to be a 2016 Dream Home on the Parade of Homes tour, we were overjoyed. This home was to tell a different story than the rest. These clients had a specific vision for how this home was to be lived in. Their vision was so clear, you could hear their grandchildren’s giggle while playing in their hidden playroom under the stairs. You could smell the barbeque on the 4th of July as they celebrate with their family and friends. You could taste the wine that would be shared with all three of their daughters at their custom kitchen island. And last, but certainly not least, you could sense the adrenaline that would flow through their bonus room as the family gathered to cheer on the beloved Minnesota Vikings each Sunday. This house was truly built to be a home for this family.
When we started the selection process with these clients, they wanted to incorporate a healthy mix of stained and enameled features with splashes of brass accents. Following that rule, the home unfolded beautifully with special, custom details throughout. In the powder bath, a wallpapered ceiling is the perfect surprise and a great reminder to always look up in a room! The kitchen showcases an intricately crafted walnut waterfall island, but one of the best showstoppers in this house? The oversized crystal chandelier in the staircase. This space was viewed from almost all areas of the home, so a statement light fixture was a necessity.
While exploring each space in this home and soaking in all of the special details, imagine the family living here; entertaining their guests on the lake, and spending time with their children and grandchildren on the weekends. We have a feeling lots of lovely memories will be made here.
And there it is, the Watersedge Trail House.
