Meet the team

Meet Katie, her favorite color is pink. It’s one of the first things she will tell you. And not just any pink, Kate Spade’s Pink Bonnet. What she won’t tell you is that she is an insanely talented designer and Bria Hammel Interiors, Project Manager. She is humble, leads by example, and an anchor for our team. Needless to say, she is an integral part of BHI. Katie has been with Bria since 2014. She started as what she will say, a “little intern,” and quickly proved herself through her dedication and talent.

Katie has always been fascinated by interior design, and residential construction. She is meticulous, never misses a detail, and can remember everything down to the time of day. This has been evident in her work. From cabinet drawings, to plumbing selections, Katie as an eye for it all. It’s hard to identify her favorite part of the design process, but she certainly loves selecting light fixtures and gets excited about all the custom details. While her creativity aligns with Bria’s, she has an original style. Her aesthetic is timeless, yet current. This is demonstrated through her work on [her favorite project] the Still Water House.

Katie’s humility and “yes” attitude is rooted from being raised on her parent’s farm in Clara City, Minnesota. She is a self-proclaimed country girl. Her favorite food, mashed potatoes & gravy. Her sparkly disposition is infectious. She can light up a room with her giggle and smile. Katie’s best friend, Paige sums it up perfectly, “Katie has a sweet soul and is excited about life; she brightens my day every time I see her.”

When she’s not working, you will find her doing exiting things with her friends around the Twin Cities, or back on the farm in Clara City. So, if you see a girl with a bounce to her step, a Chai Tea Latte in hand, architectural plans under arm, and a Kate Spade handbag, you can guarantee it’s Katie.
