This spring, after many discussions, sleepless nights, and prayers on what is the best next step for my career, I have decided to start my own design firm, Bria Hammel Interiors.

It’s been a dream of mine for some time, I just never knew when I would be “ready”. I must say I have loved all my jobs in the past 10 years, from the commercial and residential design firm in Lawrence, Kansas, to the retail life and management experience at Ethan Allen and Thomasville, and finally the small high end design firm Mary Hickey Interiors.

Every job has taught me something invaluable, and without that knowledge, I would never be able to do what I am doing now.

So as scary as it may be, I couldn’t be happier to finally take the “big step” and begin this new journey.

This blog will be an accumulation of my work, where I get my inspiration, my family, and our life happenings. Really, when you are passionate about your career, everything in your life goes into it.
