Rockstar Behind the Scenes

Meet Christine. She came into our office like a breath of fresh air and brought with her the passion, drive, and joy that any studio thrives off of. Adopted from Colombia and a Minnesotan at heart, she joined our team in April of this year. And with her coming, our office has transformed in more ways than we can count- and all for the better!

The first thing you should know (if you already didn’t from her blog) is that she is not a designer nor does she have any background in it. She studied communication at the University of St. Thomas but brings with her far more skills than that degree captures. In fact, not being a designer is one of the greatest strengths she brings to Bria Hammel Interiors. She’s delighted by the things we’ve become accustomed to in the design world. Her fresh perspective has allowed us to tailor our design process to a client unfamiliar with the industry (which most are). With poise and humor, she has turned our casual conversations about COM’s, electrical walk-throughs, and air gaps into the heart of our mission: how can we best serve our client in a way that is clear, refreshing, and tailored to who they are uniquely. She has put our complicated routines into organized files, streamlined our processes, and taken care of the logistics that can steal the attention from our first love, designing beautiful homes.

The energy that she brings into the office seems inconceivable when you learn that she is also a mother of two little ones. She tirelessly puts her family first and has found that going back to work has been that thing that allows her to give even more; something that has inspired both us with and without kids in the studio. Selfless and humble, she’s up for anything that needs to get done. Whether that’s washing dishes and making beds for an install or picking up donuts for photoshoots- no task is too small or unimportant to her. And that joy and care that she puts into it all shines through every design. But I think her husband, Dave, says it best:

“There are two words that come to mind when I think of Christine: passionate and caring. She is passionate in everything she does – as a mom, as a wife, as a businesswoman – and she cares deeply for those around her. Simply put, she strives to ensure that everyone is satisfied 100%. For her, anything less is unacceptable.”

So when you skim our blog or see our designs, know that there’s a lot behind those rooms- lots of logistics and schedules and processes- and also someone behind it all, making every home beautiful in her own unique way.
