The Darling Darlana
We have a rule at our studio… we can only use an element of design 3 times in different projects before we cut ourselves off. No one wants to see the same barstool over and over and over again. And honestly, we get really sick of things too! With that being said, there is one light fixture that seems to just keep making its way into our designs. It’s one light fixture used so many different ways and feels completely different every. single. time.
We like to call it: The Darling Darlana.
Dining Rooms
We love the linear version of this lantern. It’s perfect over a long rectangular table and is a great source of lighting for the space. It comes in so many finishes, but the brass is definitely one of our favorites!
We installed the same light in a more formal dining room setting, using the polished nickel finish. It feels completely different when mixed with more formal fabrics and finishes.
Foyers
The lantern also comes as a single lantern, which we love to use in foyers. Here we used it in our Stillwater House and just love the casual yet elegant vibe it gives as you enter the home.
Kitchens
In our Shady Beach House we used oversized brass lanterns over the kitchen island. They are great because the scale is large, but you can still see thru them so they aren’t too heavy.
Custom Color
Finally, did you know its not that hard to make a fixture any color you want? We purchased a chrome Darlana, brought it to one of our local shops and had it powder coated to match our #BHI pink! It completely transformed the light and now hangs happily over Kari’s desk in her office. Probably my favorite application to date!
So there you have it! Have you used this adorable light fixture before? We would love to see what space you designed it in. If you love this fixture as much as we do, click on any of the images below to shop this amazing collection!

I love the Darlana and how you used it in different areas! Shelley
Thanks Shelley!
I’ve fallen in love with this light also. I’ve used it twice over a Dining table in different finishes and once over a very large island! The island was my favorite!
