The Monthly Edit: February 2018

It’s February which means it’s time for our Monthly Edit! This month has already started off with a bang here in Minnesota with all the craziness of the Super Bowl. The amount of events that happen for 1 football game is crazy! We enjoyed a few of the festivities but for the most part hung low trying to stay out of the crowds and craziness.

The Monthly Edit

This past month I decided to put myself on the top of my priority list and committed to being healthier. I signed up for the Arbonne 30 Day Challenge, which follows similar rules to the Whole 30 diet. In 1 month I lost 10 pounds and 7 inches, but more importantly I have so much more energy. I never really believed people when they said that food can really change the way you feel, but now I’m a firm believer. I couldn’t have made it thru the month without 2 things. 1- my sister in law who is also an Arbonne Coach and so so supportive through this journey. (seriously if you want more info comment below and I can connect you, what a difference to have someone to cheer you on through this!) 2- these yummy recipes that made me feel like I wasn’t cutting out delicious food. Here are a few of my favorite recipes that are 30 day challenge approved 🙂

PALEO QUICHE | GUAC BURGER | TACO SPAGHETTI BOATS

We have been working on quite a few renovations and new construction projects this year. The biggest trend we are seeing? People are wanting to invest in their cooking ranges in their kitchen. Now, not only is it important that their range works great, they want it to be beautiful too! The go to line has been La Cornue and here are 2 of the models we are installing in different homes!

If you’re like me, you flip through your junk mail on a nightly basis not taking too much time to look at all the catalogs. For some reason though, this kids clothing store catalog caught my eye last week! It’s called Bella Bliss, and has seriously the cutest kids clothes ever! Needless to say the kids are getting some adorable new clothes for spring. I thought I’d share some of my favorites here:

We are working on a big renovation in Kansas City right now and have had so much fun really bringing a true classic traditional style to this home while adding our fresh young take to the design. We presented all the furnishings this month and cannot wait to get it all installed! Here are a few of our inspiration pictures that got our creative juices flowing.

We just signed a contract with this amazing branding company called One & Other Co. to work on a new project together and I couldn’t be more excited! Seriously, if you need branding help you must check them out! I’m definitely channeling my inner Southern girl with these guys (did you guys know I was born in Texas and lived there until I was 7?) They have done work for some of my favorite places- 86 Cannon (just booked a room to stay there in March!) and this adorable new pajama line called Lake Pajamas.

Valentine’s Day is around the corner! Now is the time to start thinking about what to get the one you love. {or yourself!} We teamed up with Daniel Wellington this year to offer our readers a discount on their special Valentine’s Day promotion! Use promo code BRIAHAMMEL to get 15% thru Valentine’s Day!

We have been having a lot of fun being more creative with interior finishes when working on renovations and new home builds. I love working unique details into our designs and our team has become masters of sourcing fun new products. We have been using Cement Tile Shop for a while now but are just loving all these new tiles they have introduced lately!

In less than 2 weeks Katie and I are traveling to India. We planned this trip fairly quickly and are so excited {and nervous!} to go. We are writing a blog post soon about what we are packing to manage the 22 hour plane ride, but for now I wanted to share the new camera we bought for the trip! I wanted something small yet high quality, and I did a ton of research before I made my decision. We went with the Fuji X-T20 with a zoom lens. We can’t wait to share all the images we capture with this beauty! Of course we had to get an adorable camera bag too- so many cute options from Mark and Graham!

If you missed it we shared part I of our Baltimore House project. We received some great news about the kitchen so we are holding that one back from you for a few months, but here are a few pictures of the first and 2nd floor, go here to see the entire post!

Follow along with us on Instagram and Facebook to keep up with us on all of this and more! Happy February!
