Remember the charming Minneapolis bungalow that we revealed on our blog earlier this Spring? If so, then you’ve probably seen the completed interior of the house. However we left out a major part of the renovation. The exterior of this home might be one of our most favorite transformations. Today, we want to complete the tour of the home by showing you the before and after photos of the exterior!
Before we dive into all the details of their exterior, here are a few photos of it before…
Before
After
When we were designing the plans for the home, we knew we wanted to bring the openness and inviting elements from the interior to the exterior. After all, the exterior is the first thing you see. We also love the light that fills the entire house, it creates a bright and clean space, and we wanted to continue that throughout the entire house.
Body Color
Knowing that we wanted the exterior to represent the bright and open interior space, we chose a White Dove body color by Benjamin Moore.
The Front Door
We knew we wanted to add some contrast to the bright white color, while still keeping elements that make it feel inviting and open. We choose a graphite Benjamin Moore front door, with six-panel glass windows and gold accent colors. This creates the perfect amount of contrast with the white dove body color, while adding some accessories to make it pop!
To compliment the front door, we added a beautiful antique bronze outdoor light located right above the door.
Window Boxes
Every charming bungalow needs a some window boxes. We kept the window boxes light, by choosing a Prestige white window box with brackets, and added graphite shutters to create (you guessed it).. contrast!
Final touches..
The exterior isn’t complete without the landscape, but we can’t take any credit for this part of the renovation. The homeowners took this project in their own hands and we think they did a fabulous job!

Was the house repainted or restuccoed? We are looking at having our 1930's home painted and I feel like I am having a hard time finding a painter that really knows what to do with stucco (I know some people say never paint stucco). I love this home, wonderful job!
This Before exterior reminds me so much of my exterior that we have been looking to update. Love it! Do you offer any online services as I am not in your area?
Thank you so much Natalie! We work all over the country, but unfortunately only offer full service design. Please send us a message if you are interested in learning more about these services!
