A “Do Good” Dinner with Masonic Children’s Hospital

It’s no secret that the state of Minnesota and hockey go hand in hand. But, what does even more? The Wild’s left wing Jason Zucker and the Masonic Children’s Hospital. Jason has been committed to the hospital since visiting with his teammates during the 2015 season and his unwavering dedication to raising money and awareness for the hospital is something that has been incredible to watch.

At the start of the 2017-2018 season Jason pledged $1,600 for every goal he scored and encouraged the community to also pledge in a form of ‘16’, a nod to Jason’s hockey number. Well, he ended up scoring a career-breaking 33 goals and is keeping his promise to donate his $52,800 soon. How amazing is that?

One of our goals in 2018 as a team was to find more ways to donate our time or services and give back. So, when we were given the opportunity to work with Jason and his wife Carly and the Masonic Children’s Hospital for a dinner party, it was a resounding yes.

This past Spring, Carly and Jason auctioned off a dinner at their home for 16 guests to benefit the hospital and we were fortunate enough to style their home for the event. We were so excited to work alongside some other amazing, generous vendors like Sister Honey Floral Co., Dave Puente Photography, and 6 talented chefs to bring this 5-course dining experience to life.

Our Inspiration for the Tablescape

As if it couldn’t possibly be more exciting for us, Carly was also interested in using some Brooke & Lou pieces for the decor. Keeping with an autumn color palette, we selected items with those rustic, fall hues like our French Pine dining table, Lawrence Chairs, artwork, and throw blankets.

One of our favorite sources for tableware is Juliska. No matter what theme or style we are aiming for, we are sure to find something from them that works perfectly for the setting. They were generous enough to provide the chargers and goblets that truly made our table setting complete. On top of the chargers, we placed the menu inside our green scalloped dinner napkins that are coming to Brooke & Lou next month!
