Here to Stay: Decorating with Plaid

You may have noticed that as of lately, plaid is having a moment. From fashion to home, this pattern has popped up everywhere. However, to us, plaid never really left. Because of all of the ways you can use it in your home, we consider plaid to be a design element that’s here to stay.

Whether you’re opting for a bold buffalo check, a soft gingham, or a classic tartan, plaid can tie a room together no matter your style. When it comes to our projects, we’ve honestly used plaid in almost every way that you can: rugs, pillows, bedding, tile, wallpaper, upholstery – you name it!

More often than not, if something feels a little lackluster or a little “off” about your space, it’s because it doesn’t have enough depth. By easily adding in texture or pattern, you can give your room the dimension it needs and bring it to life. Plaid is a great way to do this because you can play with so many different colors and scales, making it simple to pair with your existing décor.

If you’re looking to make a statement and ready to take the plunge, we suggest using plaid in your wallpaper or flooring. Below are a few examples from our recent projects that we love.
