A Hometown Holiday Celebration

From New York City to Chicago, BHI/B&L’s annual holiday party is always a celebration to remember. It’s something we look forward to all year and is the perfect opportunity for our team to connect, reflect, and have a little fun! This year, with our schedules busier than ever and our team being larger than it ever has been, we decided to have a little staycation and bring the party to our own hometown!

Since many of our team members live on the east side of the Twin Cities, we decided to hop on over to the west side to, Wayzata, a beautiful lake-front town filled with wonderful shops, great restaurants, and the most adorable boutique hotel we’ve been dying to stay at!

We closed our office on Friday and spent the afternoon shopping around downtown Excelsior (which is even more charming during the holidays!) to pop into some of our favorite local shops (I.e. GOLDEN RULE, GRAY Home + Lifestyle, Ace General Store) before warming up with some hot cocoa.

After shopping, our herd of 15 ladies checked in to Hotel Landing which we were so excited to call home for the weekend! Not only is it in the perfect location and has a delicious restaurant/bar on-site (ninetwentyfive), but the design is what truly made us fall in love with it! Big surprise, right? If you’re looking for a stunning, sleek, calm, and modern place to stay in the Twin Cities area, look no further than HL. We had such a great experience and we are already planning another stay in the summer when it’s warm and sunny out!

For dinner, we headed down the street to 6Smith for lots of yummy bites and festive drinks before our party bus (yes, you heard that right!) picked us up for a night out in Minneapolis! It’s a bit hard to find a space available and big enough to accommodate a lively, large group of gals like us so we had to narrow it down to a few places we’ve been eager to try out!

First, we stopped at Cobble Social House in the North Loop which did not disappoint. This warm, cozy spot would be excellent for date night and happy hour with girlfriends and we had a blast! This was the perfect, calm, and sophisticated stop before we ventured onto Betty Dangers which has been recently transformed into its alter-ego, Mary’s Christmas Palace, during the holiday season. To say that it’s a festive location would be a bit of an understatement. This place was completely decked out, extremely over the top, and SO much fun. From their themed food and holiday drinks to the overall ambiance, we never wanted to leave!

Before retiring for the night, we were able to catch a glimpse of homes lit up with Christmas lights through the Wayzata neighborhood surrounding Hotel Landing.

The next morning, before we all went our separate ways, we had to stop at HL’s on-site restaurant, ninetwentyfive, for a much-needed brunch! Three words: Get the beignets! You won’t regret it. 🙂

We’re pretty sure we say this every year, but this year was the best BHI/B&L holiday bash to date. I feel so lucky to be surrounded by such an amazing group of ladies and, man, do we have fun together! When we’re together it’s the laughter that makes your belly ache and your cheeks hurt from smiling so hard. It’s a true gift! 2020 – we’re ready for you, but the real question is, are you ready for us?!
