It seems like we say this year after year, but, boy, did this year fly by! 2019 was a complete whirlwind (in the very best way) and we’re eager to see where the next decade takes us. As December comes to a close, it’s so exciting to look at everything that happened for both Bria Hammel Interiors and Brooke & Lou over the last 12 months.

2019 Milestones (in no particular order!)
BROOKE & LOU TURNED 1
It’s so crazy to think that not too long ago, Brooke & Lou was simply an idea! Now, we’re over a year old and continuing to learn and grow more and more with each passing month. As no surprise, the best feeling this past year has been seeing you all loving your B&L pieces and incorporating them into your homes. Truly a dream come true!
WE WERE FEATURED IN A BOOK
We were so grateful to have our Kansas City project featured in Carl Dellatore’s recent book, On Style: Inspiration and Advice from the New Generation of Interior Design. This project was one of our favorites we’ve ever designed and now it sits on our coffee tables for us to look at for years to come!
OUR BALTIMORE PROJECT WON AN AWARD
Our Baltimore Kitchen won 2nd place in Sub-Zero Wolf’s Kitchen Design Contest and we were so honored. The cherry on top was traveling to Charleston, SC to spend a few days with their team and fellow designers I admire for the award ceremony. It was a trip I’ll never forget!
WE DOVE INTO VIDEO
This was something we’ve had on our bucket list for years and finally checked off in 2019! I’ll admit, I was a little nervous (I’m not the most comfortable or natural in front of the camera!) but it’s been so much fun to dive into this new, creative medium to show off our beautiful projects and Brooke & Lou collections. BRIA HAMMEL INTERIORS HIT 100K ON INSTAGRAM
Wow! This is still a bit unbelievable for us. Currently, we’re almost to 120k strong and it’s so surreal that we have such a large, strong, supportive community of followers that love what we do and want to hear what we have to say on a daily basis! If you’re not following us on IG yet, click here!

I WAS NAMED THE TILE SHOP’S 1ST EVER BRAND AMBASSADOR
Having worked with The Tile Shop for so many years, this partnership was a completely natural fit for me. Partnering with TTS team over the past year has been a blast and we can’t to continue to share more of what we’ve been stirring up together!
BROOKE & LOU LAUNCHED A KITCHEN COLLECTION
This collection was especially fun to create because it was heavily influenced by you all! We took notes of what you all were continuing to ask for and tailored the collection to reflect just that. Some of my favorite B&L pieces are from the kitchen collection and I can’t wait to continue to add to it!
BHI REBRANDED + LAUNCHED OUR NEW WEBSITE
We’ve had this on our minds for a few years and decided that 2019 was the year to do it! With the help of our friends at Outline (who also designed Brooke & Lou’s branding/website), we now have the branding and website of our dreams! What do you all think? Are you loving it just as much as we are?
WE PARTCIPATED IN THE ARTISAN AND LUXURY HOME TOUR
We were fortunate enough to participate in both the Artisan Home Tour and Luxury Home Tour this past year. Our Modern Tudor project with David Charlez Designs and SD Custom Homes was featured on the Artisan tour and our Edina Contemporary project with David Charlez Designs and Sustainable9 was on the Luxury Home Tour. These were both stunning, collaborative projects to be a part of and we couldn’t be more proud of how they both turned out!
BHI HAD THEIR 1ST INVENTORY SALE
An inventory sale was something that was on our to-do list for a while and this past September we decided to take the leap of faith and do it! Now we’re simply wondering why it took us so long! Not only did we free a lot of our inventory pieces, it was also such a fun opportunity to meet our readers/followers, connect with previous and current clients, and engage with members of our community. We definitely plan on hosting another one in 2020 so stay tuned!
OUR TEAM CONTINUED TO GROW
Our BHI/B&L team is now at 18 ladies and I still have a hard time wrapping my head around it. There’s no better feeling than coming into the studio every morning to an infectious buzz of excitement and creativity that truly inspires me on a daily basis. We work hard and we play hard and I couldn’t image a finer group of girls to be on this crazy journey with!
