We’re Hiring: Associate Designer

Under the direction of the Design Team Manager, the Associate Designer will manage all aspects of client design projects from beginning to end. This includes working with design team to meet deliverables, deadlines and budgets on all projects, meet time billing goals on a monthly basis, report weekly happenings to management team, as well as attend continuing education classes, markets and vendor presentations to develop skill set.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Design:
– Prepare all client on-boarding paperwork including questionnaire, sample binders, OneDrive folder organization, and Asana organization
– Assist in planning and interpreting projects through all phases of development including Onboarding vision boards, Schematic design, Design Phase development, Construction and documents, and Project Management administration
– Coordinate and schedule all client meetings and communicate with clients, vendors, contractors, architects, and other members of the project team as directed by the Lead Designer
– Create and maintain documentation for all projects, including selection sheets, AutoCAD plans, and schedules
– Assist in design selections as assigned by lead
– Render design ideas in form of boards, drawings, or illustrations, estimates, material requirements and costs, and presents design to lead designer for approval
– Assist in coordinating the day-to-day needs of the project through other design staff assigned to the project, pricing coordinator and expeditor
– Create product pricing in Design Manager system and collaborate on pricing with pricing coordinator
– Complete weekly status reports for clients in collaboration with expeditor as well as provide other updates including meeting notes
– Maintain a log of time spent on each project and enter for time billing
– Prepare and attend product installations at clients homes
– Meet time billing goals set forth by management on a monthly basis. 

Continuing Education:

– Attend vendor presentations as assigned by Design Team Manager
– Attend markets to seek out inspiration and meet with vendor representatives

General:

– Complete Friday reports weekly and send to Design Team Manager and Creative Director & CEO
– Be punctual in attendance and dependable in performance
– Demonstrate strong project management skills with the ability to juggle many projects at once all at various stages of the design process
– Positive, can do approach to solving problems
– Maintain a neat, business like appearance
– Represent the Company in a professional manner
– Work closely as a team with everyone in the studio 

QUALIFICATIONS

– Demonstrate solid knowledge of the design industry
– 2-4 year degree in Interior Design
– 2-4 years as a design assistant
– Utilize computer software Photoshop, PowerPoint, Design Manager, AutoCAD, Sales Force, Word, Excel, Illustrator and In-Design
