Whether you’re looking for something a little spooky and moody or seeking to keep things earthy and neutral, we have a feeling you’ll leave this post with some inspo to give your porch a facelift for fall. Which look will be your favorite? Let’s find out!

Our Front Porch Styling Tips

Tip #1 – Start With The Base

Give your front porch some layers by mixing and matching rugs. Start with a patterned outdoor rug that is the same width of your entire door frame (or larger). Next, place a coir mat on top to stop the dirt and debris from entering your home.

Tip #2 – Frame Your Front Door

Keep it symmetrical by placing two large planters on either side of the door. We typically like to place greenery that is tall, full and lush in these planters to really make a statement.

Tip #3 – Think Fall Layers

Once you’ve anchored your front door with large planters on both sides, mix in smaller planters with annual flowers for added color. To add warmth try incorporating terra-cotta pots or keep it neutral and match the shade/texture of your largest pots.

Tip #4 – A Warm Welcome

If you have the space, incorporate outdoor lanterns near your planters or trickling down the front steps for a warm, inviting feel!

Tip #5 – The Final Touch

Last but not least, add a wreath to your front door no matter the season! We love the look of natural dried wreaths or cedar & pine for the Fall & Winter months.
