Designing a beautiful and functional space for little ones is a rewarding and memorable experience. For our Lexington Ave. project, we were able to create two spaces for a precious baby boy and growing girl. And today, we’re excited to finally reveal both of the rooms!
By choosing a classic and timeless design for the baby boy’s nursery and a playful and fun design for the little girl’s bedroom, we were able to create two beautiful rooms that reflect each child’s personality and style. Remembering to incorporate functional storage solutions and personal touches, we had so much fun bringing these spaces to life.
BABY BOY’S NURSERY
For the baby boy’s nursery, we wanted to create a classic and timeless design that would grow with him. We started with a neutral color palette of beige and white with added pops of gray-blue for a subtle touch of color. We chose sophisticated furniture pieces, such as a white metal crib and a stained dresser (that doubles as a changing table), that would blend in seamlessly with the neutral decor.
To add interest and texture, we incorporated a playful pop of pattern through the subtle stripe wallpaper and plaid drapery panels, Hunter Douglas woven wood shades, and whimsical accessories. We also added a comfortable glider chair for late-night feedings and cuddles.
LITTLE GIRL’S ROOM
For the little girl’s bedroom, we wanted to create a playful and fun space that would inspire her imagination. We started with a pink and white color palette and added pops of blue and brass for a touch of glamour. We chose a whimsical floral wallpaper for an eye-catching feature wall and blue scalloped window treatments for contrast.
To create a cozy and inviting space, we added a spindle bed with plush bedding and a custom tie-on decorative cushion to serve as a cozy headboard. We also added some personal touches, such as the rattan elephant and playful accessories that honor the little one’s interests.
