Stone Spotlight: FAQ Favorites

Integrating stone into interior design can infuse a space with organic materials and add texture and warmth to a space. A question we always get is, ‘What stone did you use?’. Today on the blog, we’re spilling the details about some standout stone features that have stolen the spotlight in some of our projects.

Beach Street Project Fireplaces

Whenever we post a shot from our Beach Street Project project we get asked about the large stone fireplaces. For this project we drew a lot of our inspiration from the great outdoors, so we wanted to include as many organic materials in the spaces as possible. The fireplace in the sunroom and great room are both a limestone blend called Sandcastle with white grout from Hedberg Home found here.

Murietta Project Great Room

Another favorite is the large fireplace in our Murietta Project. For this space we mixed textures and tones with the lighter sofa, darker wood on the coffee table, lighter stained cabinets and the stone of the fireplace to create an organic feel. The stone seen here is a limestone from Eldorado Stone in the finish Grand Banks with white grout seen here.

Bria’s 3-Season Porch

Another standout stone feature is from Bria’s 3-season porch. For this space Bria didn’t want to stray too far from the original style of her home, yet still wanted to add details that made this space feel special. Incorporating this fireplace really added a statement to the room and gave it a very subtle rustic feel without straying too far from her homes traditional roots and light & airy feel. For this feature we used Alder™ Limestone from ORIJIN STONE found here.

Lakeland Project Kitchen

One of our favorite features of our Lakeland Project is the stone feature in the kitchen, and you agreed! This home is surrounded by nature and we wanted that reflected in the house with a balance of modern, clean design and soft organic, details. The arched window and stone accent wall above the sink is an architectural marvel, offering an enchanting view of the backyard’s mesmerizing forestry. For this project we used a Craft Orchard Limestone by Creative Mines in the shade Alpaca linked here.
