Behind the Design: How We’ve Streamlined Our Process

Today, we are kicking off our first Behind the Design post of 2021 covering a topic we’re oh-so passionate about: processes. Over the past few years, we’ve done the hard work to streamline our design process and elevate our client’s experience to be the very best it can be and we are so excited to be partnering with Design Manager again this year to continue to spill a few of our secrets as to how.

If you’re interested in reading more about why we’ve chosen Design Manager for our business, you can read a few of our previous posts here, here, and here.

A huge reason that we’ve been able to scale our business, take on more projects, and grow our staff over the years is because of our process. Our team lives and breathes by it, and we’ve become proud of how it’s not only strengthened our team but, more than anything, how it has impacted our clients in such a positive way.

To be able to predict timelines accurately and keep our projects rolling efficiently, we’ve recently incorporated online payments into our process using Stripe, Design Manager’s most seamless payment collections tool out there (trust us, we’ve tried many!). This has cut our accounting time down drastically and has allowed us to focus on what we love to do – designing.

From our clients perspective, they receive 1 link that covers one or multiple invoices that they are able to review/pay at their convenience. This makes it so clear, quick, and manageable for them, not having to dig through numerous attachments, links, etc. to figure out how much their invoice is or how to pay for it.

It’s always surprising to us how altering one step or incorporating a simple change to our process can make such a drastic impact in the long run and DM’s online payment feature is the perfect example of that. For more info, read more about why DM uses Stripe for their online payment processing here.

Designers, we would love know what has been something you’ve adapted recently that’s been a gamechanger for your design process? Let us know in the comments below!
